About the Author
Maria Victoria Rotor-Hilado

Maria Victoria (Vicky) Rotor-Hilado studied her primary and the majority of her high school years at the St. Scholastica’s College. She graduated High School from the Heritage Hall School in 1977. Vicky obtained her History-Political Science degree from the De La Salle University, graduating cum laude under the three-year Liberal Arts Accelerated Honors Program in 1980.

She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila Law School in 1985, graduating third in her class and placing fifth in the bar examinations of the same year. In 1986, she worked with the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Firm (ACCRALAW) as an Associate in the Corporate Special Projects Department. She resigned as a Senior Associate in 1989 and went into solo practice. In 2000, she rejoined ACCRALAW as a parttime consultant, attending to several projects including document assembly and electronic data conversion among others. She continues to practice law as a solo practitioner specializing in estate planning, estate settlement and real property transactions.

In late November 2014, Vicky and her co-author Gianna Reyes Montinola launched the book Laws for Life, a cradle-to-grave book for laymen addressing issues and transactions which a person is confronted with, from birth to death and beyond. The book has been on the Best Seller’s List for Philippine Publications for both National Bookstore and Powerbooks. The book also has an e-book edition available on major e-retailers.

Vicky also lectures on estate planning and settlement at the Asian Development Bank and before other groups. She also tutors basic Math and English at the Tuloy sa Don Bosco and attends to her husband, Tad, and her four children, Enzo, Bianca, Pilar and Santi, whose names are peppered throughout this book.
