About the Author
Queena N. Lee-Chua

Queena N. Lee-Chua, PhD graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1987, with a degree in BS Mathematics, summa cum laude. She also received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the same university, where she is now full Professor.

Queena specializes in math and science education and popularization, learning psychology, parenting, teen and children's issues. She has written on family businesses, family issues, inspirational stories, among others. She has also headed Ateneo teams that studied the best practices of Filipino public and private school achievers, and the media habits of Filipino youth.

Queena has garnered many awards, among them the TOYF (The Outstanding Young Filipinos), the TOWNS (The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service), the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Teachers Award, the DOST’s Great Men and Women of Science, the OYS (Outstanding Young Scientists), the Bato Balani Tribute to Teachers Honoree, the Jose Rizal Awards for Excellence, the National Book Awards, the National Science and Technology Journalism Awards, Outstanding Science and Technology Columnist, the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, and the Catholic Mass Media Awards.

She was featured in Asia Inc. Magazine’s Who’s Hot in Asia, and the Singapore Heritage Center’s Southeast Asian Personalities of Chinese Descent. In 2010, with a Malaysian scientist, she was first to receive the Third World Academy of Sciences Regional Prize for Public Understanding of Science for the East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Region. Her most recent book, Home Work 2: Everything Parents Ask About School (and Growing Up), was co-written by her son, Scott.
